Avoiding a War with America

I guess the most difficult thing to forget about for a school kid are the bullies at school who have nothing else to do then to put other kids to size.Nowadays, this role is taken up quite beautifully by big boys at Washington who always feel their  duty is to rescue the world from any thing they feel intrusive.Everyone is  becoming the victim  of American hegemony;Palestine,Lebanon, Venezuela,Afghanistan,Iraq,Iran and not its Pakistan’s turn, although it was never a hidden truth for the Pakistani’s.

The local government in Pakistan is making its protest known to the world in the most civilized way, but this is not to any avail. This is a good advise for the states who want to avoid a war with America, you cannot possibly do anything but to watch your people being killed. There is no other body, organization and institution which can save you from the humiliation, unless you got somebody like the Viet Cong or the Mujahideen.

The Real Terror

PAKISTAN BHUTTO RETURN

Americans have decided to expand thier covert war in Pakistan and bomb another part of Pakistan without consulting their ‘so-called’ allies in Islamabad. This is not surprising for many who know what kind of an ally Pakistan is for the Americans.Their alliance is somewhat like the Israel and Palestine alliance which was created during the Rabin-Arafat times. Palestinians choose Hamas as their protectors rather then those who collaborate in the killings of hundreds of innocent civilians in the name of war on terror.

American allies in Pakistan are a few handpicked politicians and a handful of ruthless military men who have allegiance with nothing other then their own petty agendas.American bombings in Pakistan have already done a lot of good for the militant groups, who have got a case for themselves.

Pakistani’s are living under enormous poverty and rising fear of  state and militant terrorism, their will be an additional worry for them in the shape of American bombings. The restraint, resilience and courage my countrymen have shown over the last few years was magnificent.

The only people who are fighting against terrorism in a civilized way are the Pakistani’s.

I was reading an article by Jason Burke in the guardian and he was trying hard to analyze  as well as convince readers his new understanding of  Pakistan. In most part of his long article he insisted on the point that western press exaggerates Islamisation  in that soceity.  This was certainly something different coming from the western press.

It is difficult to capture the ground realities of  a society  when you are  living in a different part of the world and most of the time there is a chance of  missing the key point. Many Muslims when they discuss  the reasons for the newly created clash of civilizations they often tend to point towards  the social values and religious believes of the western societies, this notion as we all know is more emotional and farther from truth. After living in a western country for almost a decade I have felt the tendency of people to misinterpret issues is common among both worlds.West is getting more and more obsessed with its advancements which they have gained over the years after enormous hardwork. In this whole excitement of  acquiring enormous  freedom they have forgotten the tendency to respect other peoples struggle.

If we look back at the recent history there are a few countries who have not gone through some major hardships in building up their societies and especially political sytems.Crisis has been everywhere; Northern and Southern parts of America fought a war among against each other over a bill, Europeans killed each other for centuries, India was divided into pieces then the almost whole Middle East went up in smoke and is still going through the suffering.

Ronald Reagan and General Zia. General Zia-ul-Haq came to power after he overthrew ruling Pakistan Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in a military coup d'état on July 5, 1977.

Pakistan have gone through the same kind of conditions and are still fighting to make things right. The nation never forgets how their first elected Prime Minister was hanged by a military general and the imposition harshest form of religious laws .He was taken aboard by the American along with Bin Laden to fight the war for democracy against an evil empire.

The civil society in Pakistan has been struggling to back its control over the state and its institutions.Americans are not interested in any long term objectives e.g., Democracy.

A year after the western backed civilian government has taken over in Pakistan from General Musharraf things have gone alot worse. It is not a surprise to many who believed the whole episode of  the so-called ‘ Transition to Democracy’ in Pakistan is nothing more then a reshuffling of  the  people in power by the western alliance. The loud rhetoric’s of democracy and western values was just a cover-up for the hollow War on “Terror”.

Americans came all the way down to Afghanistan to capture those criminals who attacked their country and killed hundreds of innocent people. If upholding rule of law was the primary reason behind then why Washington choose to play games with all those mafia men in Afghanistan or trusting the bad guys in ISLAMABAD?.

The only news coming out of Pakistan is violence; protests and clashes. Hundreds of Judges, lawyers, political workers and right workers are being arrested from their homes and put behind bars. All these activities are part of organizing the civil society to take on the establishment which has been supporting militants for decades. A major part of the population in these countries (Pakistan and Afghanistan) may have never heard of Bertrand Russell’s “New roads to Freedom” or Marx’s “Das Kapital” but clearly understand the difference between reformation and occupation.
